The Showcase of the Stars show is almost here! Below are some quick notes to pass along with a very detailed schedule. DO NOT BE LATE, PROFESSIONALISM AT ITS VERY BEST! WE ARE REPRESENTING RICHLAND AT PPAC!

11:00 AM Meet at High School Theatre for warm ups, and quick run.
11:20 AM Report to the PPAC (UPJ Campus)
11:30 AM - 12:00 PM Perform at PPAC Main OnStage

6:45 PM Meet back at PPAC in the Studio Theatre
7:00 PM Richland opens the show at Showcase of the Stars!

DRESS UP RULES:

Dress - The Showcase of the Stars is a formal event, therefore, the attire for the evening should reflect that ideal. Although "formal" can mean different things to different people, here are the guidelines for the performers of the evening:

All men should wear dress pants, dress shoes, a dress shirt and a tie. A suit is the most appropriate attire.

All Women must wear dress shoes. No flip flops should be worn. Dresses must be below the knee. Dresses should not extend more than 6" on either side of the body. (i.e. No "poofy" dresses that take up the place of 3 or 4 people). May choose to wear dress pants and a dress top, but must have a formal and elegant look.

Show Specific T-Shirts or Unified Costumes are strictly prohibited. All students should perform in their formal attire. Dressing rooms will not be available once the show begins.

SHOWCASE NOTES:

  • Warm up your voice before performances and rehearsals.
  • Know your vocal limits and stay within them (pitch, loudness, and stamina).
  • Rest your voice before and after vocally demanding days (extended rehearsals, performances, voice-over work, etc.).
  • Pace yourself during rehearsals and performances.
  • Stop speaking before you get tired. If you feel tired, you may have already done too much.
  • Plan your schedule very carefully and avoid doing to much on performance days.
  • Avoid ice-cold drinks while you’re using your voice. Room temperature is better.
  • WATER WATER WATER
  • Avoid drinks with caffeine, soda, or milk
  • Take care of your body by getting plenty of rest, exercising, and eating well.
  • Avoid getting sick by washing your hands before eating and before touching your face, mouth, nose, or eyes.
