The Fly System is single purchase counterweight system, T-Bar guided. Each gerneral line set with 6' arbors has a 1300 lbs. capacity and travels from a minimum in trim of 3'-6" to a maximum out trim of 44'-0". Each electrical line set with 8' arbors have a capacity of 1900lbs. All battens are 58’-0” in length and are constructed of 1-1/2” ID Schedule 40 pipe. The house has enough weight to counterbalance each line set. Each counter weight on the loading gallery is 20lbs. There is 30,000lbs available on the loading gallery.
The stagehouse has 35 line sets, five of which cannot be cleared for use (four orchestra shell ceilings and the projector screen). Five of the line sets carry their own electrical wireways for in-house lighting.
ONLY HOUSE FLYMEN ARE PERMITTED TO OPERATE THE FLY RAIL. Exceptions to this rule are at the sole discretion of the Director of the Performing Arts Center or his designated representative.
