The theme of our season is Shakespeare and this show sets off our season with a comedic classic. This one hour and thirty minute performance will be approachable and enjoyable to all! This is one of Shakespeare's most popular, lightest, and most musical of all his comedies, and its staging continues to delight audiences all over the world. The play focuses around the story of the twins Viola and Sebastian, who are separated when their ship is involved in a wreck.
Published in 1623, Twelfth Night is one of William Shakespeare's later plays and has remained popular for nearly 400 years. Twelfth Night's plot deals with orphaned twins, shipwrecks, love triangles, and more. The text's hint of the Duke questioning his sexuality bleeds into modern topics, likely contributing to the play's continued popularity over the centuries.
